38 {whew} weeks {oof} pregnant.

I’m flippin’ huge here, folks. I’m pretty sure I’ve gained more than I ever have before, but I didn’t weigh myself with Bede so I really don’t know. It hardly matters since I’ll be tandem nursing and the weight will most likely flee at an alarming pace. I hope I’m still young enough that it will anyway. It always has before (she said nervously).

But, to the topic at hand. I’m so very very tired. All the time. I was knitting earlier and literally fell asleep in the middle of a purl row. I woke up a few seconds later to Abaigeal saying “Mama you can’t sleep while you are knitting silly!”

I attribute this to several factors. First, I’m pregnant and Sleeping For Two. Second, if each of my children awakens once in the night that means I wake up 3 times. (they don’t always wake up tho, thankfully.) And I wake up at least once to use the john and at least once to fight off the burning
torture that is heartburn. So, let’s see… awakened anywhere from two-on-a-good-night and five-on-a-bad-night times in about 6-8 hours of sleep.

Dang no wonder I’m tired. I guess it’s putting me into the short bursts of sleeping I’ll have for the first few months with the new person.

Hey Xanga folk! I wanted to welcome you to our new and improved family blog. Sean and I liked Nataly’s new blogware so much that it inspired him to do this et voila! le grand blog de famile Gleeson.

So here you will find my stuff, Sean’s stuff, and Holy Family School stuff all under one convenient URL, blog.gleeson.us. You can view all of it as one single blog or at each individual blog or (now get this!) look at the whole filtered by the categories you see listed over to the right there.

Isn’t it spiffy? I’ll be transferring old feebeeglee and holyfamilyschool entries to this blog over the next few days and all new entries will be going here from now on.

Leave me a comment so I know ya saw this, eh?

ARGH aluminum needles and acrylic yarn! FIE! I’m too poor to buy nice needles and nice yarn so here I sit with my frustrating Wally concoction. I’m knitting this flat in size nb, with Red Heart acrylic yarn in multicolor Blueberry Pie. The advantage to the acrylic soaker is washability, and this is really just to see if I like the pattern but I declare, if I drop any more stitches off the end of the needle I will hurl the lot across the room and consign it then to the flames.

grrrrr!

So here it is! Whatcha think?

I need to decide if I want to archive all my old blog posts. I think I’ll leave them there for now.

testing the no teaser function

Well, this is my very first blog entry, and my husband is writing it.

My mother’s vet let us take Lucycat in. She has a raging UTI and has been given abx and some rx food to make her urine more acidic/increase her fluid intake. She’ll be on abx for about a week and then a retest to see if all the bad bugs are gone.

No crystals in her pee, thank goodness! And they were fine with only giving her the vaccines required by law, no hassles about other stuff. They even waited to vax til after the lab results came in to see how her immune function was, which I was going to suggest but they said it was standard policy. Good vet!

Faith went with me to take her in and see the exam because she thought Lucy would be scared without her… so sweet. And such a nice place. Nice well-informed kind vet and techs. Thank goodness!

Anyway, all’s well that ends well! No pun intended!
