Waking up to a lovely 45 degree Oklahoma fall morning made me realize I have no cool or cold weather clothing for the girls. They have summer dresses but no long sleeve stuff and no leggings. And no coats. Bede is set pretty well thanks to some gifts, garage sale coups made by my mother and my GN outerwear policy. (It’s paying off now as he’ll be wearing the bright blue and yellow parka this winter that was bought 3 years ago for Faith.)
So, with little money and a decided fondness for quality natural fiber non hoochie-mama clothes for little people, where does one go for girls’ clothing? Why, Dharma Trading, since you ask! $20 in dyes and whatever (very inexpensive) clothing blanks look fun and tada! Cute clothes.
Unfortunately we’re even too broke for that. Hmm. More thought needed. I figure each girl needs 4 dresses and 4 pairs of leggings, a light coat or cardigan and a real coat. I’d prefer if all the dresses go with all the leggings. Oh and 2-4 long sleeve teeshirts per girl too.
Now, where can I get all that, in childrens’ styles (not tiny teenager) for under $100? I can knit them the light coat or cardigan I think without more yarn purchases but most everything else will require some money.
Maybe I can ebay some soakers.
