Whew! Not doin’ that again, I tell you what.
I knit a lot. House is still mighty messy though.
I wrote an FAQ on circumcision while I was away, and posted it here on October 8th, 2004. That’s Gilbert’s birthday.
Made a button
for it too. Nab the button if you like!
I’ll post again real soon!
EDITED TO ADD: Wow, enough talk about circumcision in the comments to make me change the subject line.
We’ve seen I Heart Huckabees and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind lately. Both good cheerful movies! We recommend - would make a great double feature.
I’ve been keeping busy around the birthday extravaganzas. I bet Sean will blog about them today sometime.
In knitting news: about 3/4ths done with another soaker. This one will fit both boys, which is very useful. It’s in Cascade 220 - I’ll come back and update with a pic later in the week. It’s gonna have fishies on it.
I also got a big fat envelope of lovely Yarno Italiano from Wendy! Thank you thank you thank you! The tans will be hats and the greens will be in the seamless stripey Zimmermann sweaters I’m making for Bede and Gil.
Tabitha and I are trading needles - these will be my first Turbos. To quote Lacey, “SQUEE!”
That’s all. I’ll try for the pix later!

Please, go watch before you decide whether she should die of dehydration. You can watch the entire video or just one-minute relevant parts.
Profoundly disabled?
Sure.
But…
…nonresponsive?
…vegetative?
NO WAY.

OK, back in the Lenten cave - had to come out for this.
With my birthday $$ I bought myself some Marr Haven yarn and two cute little sock/sleeve circulars. I like that I can put the dinky little 8.25 inch (that is so short, really, I wonder about purling… we will see) needle with a sock hanging from it in my diaper bag without worrying that it will fall off, like I do with double points.
The Marr Haven yarn is merino, which delights me because I had sworn off merino due to the often cruel shearing techniques utilized. (I know, inconsistently I still consume factory farmed meat, but I won’t be doing that for much longer. I’m just too poor to be picky about food. Yarn is another matter. When we are better off financially I’ll be much more picky about my food as well.) Marr Haven is a family farm and treats their sheep very nicely. Yay nicely!
So anyway, I’ll let you know how I like it all.
This Lenten fast is eating my lunch. Next year I’m giving up chocolate or sugar or something easier… I feel very isolated with no Net, like a virtual hermit without the benefit of real solitude. Yeek.

Happy Birthday to the Number One Son!
If you are not obsessed with Martha’s Poncho, feel free to stroll on by.
Lion Brand Yarn has outdone themselves and produced a pattern for the poncho in record time. It is available now free on their website. They call it the Crochet “Coming Home” Poncho, which I find much more appealing than many of the names tossed about - “Camp Cupcake?” being my personal WORST favorite of all.
It only takes 4 skeins of Homespun yarn to make and is rated “Easy”.
So bye for now, I must go buy yarn and crochet!
