I’m knitting a gift for my friend who’s having a baby. She reads this blog so I’m afraid I can’t be very specific, but I have to say publicly that I am being so good and weaving in ends as I go. I need lots of comments saying “Fee, you are being so good to weave in the ends as you go! You don’t want to keep knitting, you want to stop now and weave in the rest of the ends from the first half.” Because guys, I have the patience of a four year old and Iwannakeepknittingknnittingknitting.

Got these

for Mr. Bede yesterday. Big hit. Thanks Mom!

had big entry planned but am being attacked by child, and rather than attempt to continue and become angry at person (who is headbutting me) I will stop and be happy instead. Ta!

Man, I am at my utter limit today. I am so ragged.

Fairly urgent needs are:

1. Laundry. Sean has a thing for clean and fresh smelling clothing. Huh.

2. Dishes. Always the dishes! Why does everyone have to eat, like every day? Once a week should be fine.

3. ‘But why haven’t you done those things, Fee?’ you may ask. Well, I’ve been chasing this guy all morning

He’s insane. And not among the toilet-using either, so this nudist development is especially time-consuming.

4. And also, while I wasn’t doing those first two things, Gilbert found a crayon and about 45 seconds unsupervised. A small sample, below. Sigh.

Magic Eraser here we come. Did you know those things are made of melamine? Nifty.

So, how’s your day?

Here’s Trixie in that dress/halter she’s also wearing in the picture below:

And here’s just the dress, without a wildly squirming baby inside it:

I made it up! I was trying for ‘pillowcase dress look’ but knit. I’m going to make the same top for the older girls around here, and since those are Fibonacci ratios for the stripes it’ll fractally size up. Ah, knitting geek math! It’s in Peaches and Creme cotton.

I’ll post a pattern for it soon, when I size it up.

Salt the Sandbox is a great site about nurturing a child’s particular passions. It is written by a non-homeschooling family, which is unusual in my experience. Very good site!

Trixie meets the Yarn Harlot.

Later I’ll blog about the wonderful time we all had!

Stephanie Pearl-McPhee is here! Hoppity, hoppity, skip skip skip!

I will be attending her talk this evening with my mother and Trixie, and Trixie will be wearing a halter top I both designed and knit, and I hope with the combination of three generations of knitters along with some baby-wearing-handknits-goodness to get to hold The Sock and be in her blog.

Wish me luck!

My mother has recently taken up scrapbooking. I think she’s fantastic at it, and it’s not just because her grandchildren have been her most popular subject.

Go look for yourself: here are her scrapbook pages and cards at scrapbook.com. Ain’t she somethin?

p.s. she also keeps a blog there.

Tonight Bede had just finished a glass of chocolate milk, and had had a generally pleasant afternoon, when he walked over to me, held up his arms to be picked up, and with a big smile said “Happy!”

I’m still cleaning up the place where I melted right into the floor.
